My family is following the environmental trends. We recylce almost all of our products and compost the rest in our green bin. Also we followed the trend of getting HD TV with a digital cable box.

My biggest hobby is hockey. I require many niche products such as skates, gloves, tape, sticks and many more. I can goto many stores such as hockey life, kenesky's, second chance sports and also many more.

A trend I am following is wearing my game jerseys on game days. It shows support for the team and also lets others know that there is a game today. Me and my family are also very supportive of the environment.

When spring comes along, I like to buy shorts for when I am playing sports and being active. They are not available in the winter time so when spring comes I make sure I get new ones that fit.

  13. Yu-Gi-Oh cards use to be my favorite thing to play with. They were huge for a small period of time but then they faded away. My current trend would be Tecktonik, it isn't popular in Canada but it is in Europe and with my friends. I personally don't but i know my grandparents certainly use sometype of Niche products.

  14. An item that I bought that would be considered a FAD would be a Rubic's Cube because it was very popular at one time and now it is not selling nowadays.

A product that I would buy that would be considered a NICHE PRODUCT would be basketball shoes and basketball under armour because I obviously play basketball. My friend would rather buy soccer equipment because he specializes at soccer and is trying to make the Canada team.

A trend that my family is following is organic products. My mom has started buying organic fruit and vegetables because she believes they are healthier than other foods. My parents have started trying to have a healthier lifestlye with the foods they buy.

My Great Grandma requiers specialized products beecause she is 96 years old and needas products that will help her be safe.

  17. 1. A fad from last summer was the Ripstik which is a type of skateboard where you twist back and forth to make it move. I never bought one but i saw many kids with them.

    2. Organic foods and green bin.

    3. My dad and his stereos.

  18. I think that an example of a fad product is Silly Bands. I think this is a fad product because it was very popular last year, and every one had at least one Silly Band, and now no one trades them or wears them anymore.
For trends, everyone in my family is completely different with what we like. My brother and I like video games, my sister is big on fashion, and my little sister is really into toys that respond to the TV shows that she watches (example: Bakugans). As for my parents, my dad is into technology like computers, while my stepmom is into books, and popular and informational TV shows (examples: The Doctors, American Idol). If any of these were trends, I would say that my sister follows the latest fashion trends, and my stepmom watches the more popular TV shows and reads the more popular and best-selling books.
My Dad has a huge hobby with electronics, usually repairing and maintaining his electronics. He usually goes to special electronics stores such as EHR

  22. I remember a couple years ago we bought a tomagotchi for my sister and back then those were very popular. Now not so much.

A trend my family is doing is eatting at kelsey's every thursdays for half price wings.

A hobbie i have that requires a niche product would be baseball. It requires a baseball bat which can be kind of expensive. They are advertised toward a small market.

    ReplyDelete
  23. A fad product that I last spent money on would probably be a game boy. Years ago the game boy used to be so popular and every store had them, and everyone had on in their hand. But now not many stores sell them anymore, they are never getting advertised anywhere and no one plays them.

A trend that my family and I are following would be television shows. Even though we don't watch the exact same ones, we're all following one. My parents are usually watching either Survior or The Amazing Race. While me and my brother are watching shows like Jersey Shore and Real World.

To be honest no I don't, no one I know or even myself use a product that is small but it's very profitable.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Tamagotchis, Neopets, and Furbies are some fad products I had when I was little. They were all very popular, but didn't stay popular for long.
My sister follows the vegan food trend by shopping at health food stores and my dad likes to follow the reality TV show trend by watching shows like Survivor and American Idol.
My sister's friend loves to fish and hunt, so he has to shop at stores like BassPro Shops to get niche products for his hobbies.

What i remeber that fad products i spent on were tamagotchi's when i was about 9 years old when they were about brand new and eventually nobody cared for them anymore because they weren't that fun anymore(Losing Popularity) The Trends me and my family are following is season products because every now and then when the season comes back for certain clothes like Winter Coats or Bathing Suits we might need to buy new ones because are old ones are riped, old, and too small. My friend is always into new west 49 clothes whenever there is a new product that comes out he will always buy it.

Are there any trends you or your family are following? not really we have our own flow. we do things when we feel like doing them we wear clothing that we feel fit our personality.

Do you or anyone you know have hobbies or interests that require specialized or niche products? no...not really.

  28. 1. Some Fad products that I remember or spent money on would be Snuggies, Pet Rocks, neopets and Chia Pets.

2.I do not like to follow trends because a lot of people follow trends because they want to identify with the group. It makes people to must a like, and what is the point of seeing a person if they talk like you, act like you, and look like you. Trends always fade so eventually people get to the point where they want to be there own person and really do not care about silly little trends.

3.Any hobby that people have niche products. For example if you like to fish then you will buy fishing gear.
My grandma likes to knit and she has a lot of knit things like the needle, wool etc.
My sister likes jazz, and ballet, she has a lot of special slipper for when she is dancing, special costumes, that she danced in, etc.

A trend that my family and i follow would be eating organic foods. Aslo some of my family members enjoy the reality shows on tv such as heavy and my strange addiction.

  32. A fad product that I remember spending money on was a Tomagotchi I got quite a while ago (because I wanted to be a cool fourth grader) and silly bands, but they decreased in popularity as fast as they became popular. They became really popular and everyone liked/had them, but faded away rapidly after a month or two.
A trend that my family is currently following is eating organic foods (i.e. buying vegetables grown in Ontario farms and organic meats) and not buying foods that are imported from other far away countries such as the United States and Mexico.
My dad goes fishing a lot, which requires specialized products such as fishing rods, bait, floats, sinkers, etc.

  33. The fad products I remember spending my money on were tamagotchis, Gameboys and ponchos (sweaters). These products came in style very quick with great enthusiasm and lasted for a bit and then the style kind of faded away.
My family follows trends like: reality shows and buying food locally. When my family goes grocery my family tries their best to buy food locally (products grown in Canada) because other products from Mexico , Fiji and other far countries take too much gas and cause too much population to get all the way to Canada. Canadian food is nice and local.
My cousin’s interests require a niche product. She loves to edit pictures and she uses a MAC book pro because that product is specialized in editing and taking good pictures.

  39. I know I spent money on skinny jeans when it was a fad. I also remember buying silly bands for my little cousins at one point, because they were really into them for the short time that they were popular.

A trend that my family follows is take-out restaurants. We've ordered food to bring home many times. Especially things like Chinese food. We are also following the trend of smaller cars. We have a smaller car that saves gas, and we are looking into getting rid of our van and buying another smaller car.

A guy from my church is a very competetive gymnast and is hoping to make the next olympics. This requires him to have special gym suits so he can perform at his best. I also have a friend who is a ballerina and has to have special ballet shoes as she continues to get better.

I few of the trends I am following are, having a smaller car and being enviromentally friendly. A trend that I follow is eating as organic as I can. They are considered trends because they have slowly become more popular.
I am really into horse related items so I have to go to certain stores to buy tack and grain for them because because not everybody has a use for saddles and halters. These would be considered niche products.
