All about money!!!

We are a month into the semester now and into our second unit.  We spent last week discussing money; why it is used, the role the government plays in issuing money and how it helps business "work."

Answer the following questions to illustrate and extend your understanding of our class discussions;
  1. In class we had an excellent discussion about money and an item's value.  We noticed how a good or service's price is often different then its value to the potential customer. We also discussed how an item's value can differ between to consumers. Explain both of these observations using an example from your own experience.
  2. Are you a spender or a saver?  Justify your answer with examples of your behavior.  If you're a saver; what are you saving for? If you are a spender; what are some item's you are constantly spending money on that prevent you from saving?

  1. 1. items value can differ if a person really wants the item and would pay the actaully price it is because things that are over priced somebody may that want to spend the money to get it, example costly clothes or video game system

    2. i a spender if i have the money in my hands but if its in the bank i dont care to spend it and i am not saving for anything its just if i have it i just spend it on many different like video games, candy, food, what i want or need to buy at the moment i have the money

  2. 1. We noticed how a good or service's price is often different then its value to the potential customer because if one person prefers lulu lemon, then they will pay the certain price. But if the lulu lemon preferred customer is given a nike sweater at the same price, they may not think its worth the same value personaly. An item's value can differ between two customers because a boy might not prefer lulu lemon sweaters because he doesn't think they are manly, but a women will pay the expensive price because she thinks it is stylish.

    2. I am both a saver and a spender. I save my money that I earn from refereeing hockey towards my future at university. Ways that I save is by every 20 dollars a game that I earn, ten dollars goes into my savings account. The other 10 dollars goes into my chequing account because I need money to spend at times as well. For examplle, I need to get my skates sharpened and buy tape for hockey often, so I can't always save 100% of my earnings. Another way that I save is by putting all of my money from my summer job into the savings account.

    1. I think that consumers would differ the prices on items because based on there personallity and interests they would be willing to spend that extreme price on items that they like. For example boys would rather spend there momey on a play station or an xbox, while girls would rather spend there money on make and clothes. Also personally, I would rather spend my money at the mall at a clothing store, while my brother would rather spend all his money at video game stores.

    2. Personally I am a spender, I am not really good at saving my money, I always find something to spend it on. Items that I normally spend my money on, is something small from the caff, or either something from shoppers, like make up. Other things I spend my money on would be going out with friends during the week, or weekend, like going to the movies or something.

  4. 1. The good or service can be a differnt value to a customer then the price it is being sold because of there personality or differnt sercumstances. For example, the other day we got a flat tire. If the tire had of cost an outrages price like $50, my parents would have most likely bought it because we had to get somewhere, but if we did not have to get somewhere, my parents would have waited to buy a cheaper tire becuase we had time to spare.
Likes and dislikes can also change the price from customer to customer. For example, I play hockey, so I would be willing to pay alot of money for a hockey stick, while Lydia on the other hand would not. She would not want to waste her money on a hockey stick because she has no intrest in the sport making the stick a $10 value in her mind.

    2. I am a saver, I do not normally spend my money exept for on then odd occasion. I am currently saving for my future and my education which will be needed in a couple of years.

  5. 1. Goods and service's price are often different then its value to certain customers because some poeple may want to pay more for good service at a restaraunt for example. I recently went to The Keg steakhouse which had great service compared to other restaraunts like Swiss Chalet. In some cases people are willing to spend more money on services compared to goods. Items' values can differ between consumers because some people may want certain goods and services when other people don't. For example, I'm willing to pay full price for good headphones where other customers think that its not worth buying or the price is to high.

    2. I'm a good saver but I'll spend money when I want to. I'm mainly saving my money for education and I'm doing very good. I do enjoy spending money and sometimes I spend more then what I should. I recently just bought new headphones a few days ago which I didn't need but I really wanted them. While I was looking for headphones I also purchased a movie and a new case for my iPod. Overall, I'm a pretty good saver.

  6. 1. An items value can differ all the time for example an ipod an cost $150 to produce but for the company to make a profit it will be sold for $200 so for every item sold the compnay is making a $50 profit. Alot of things are over priced, one big thing is the price of gas. Just 2 weeks ago it was $109.9 and now its at $120.5. This is due to the political issue in Libia. I dont understand because hey hold less that 2% of the worlds oil suplly. When this Political issue in Libia blows overthe price of gas will greatly be reduced. I remember i wanted to buy a new televison and when your buying an item that expensive i did my research and looked at prices. I check bestbuy and the price was over $400 and for the same tv at future shop it was $375. Buying the tv at future shop i saved $25. Just because of the items price tag does mean it really is that price its all about overpricing things so the companies still make money.

    2. In my opinion i am more of a saver. I never really spend alot of money on things i dont really need. I spend my money on things like new clothes or lunch at school. I try to save my money insace i need it for future use and now i am trying to save a bit of money to buy a car and i have always been saving for a post secondary education like college. For these reasons i consider myself someone who saves money and doesn't spend it on usless items.

    ReplyDelete
  7. 1. An item's value can differ between customers because the items that each person buys is a personal choice. For example, the price of an X-box may be 250 dollars; however, i would not pay that much to buy it. The reason being is that I don't play video games, therefore the item to me is worthless. Also, in today's economy, prices are increasing, therefore customers do not think that the prices are reasonable. This is due to inflation and this problem will keep going on in the future. Inflation is when a price of an item is increasing because the amount of money circulating within a country is more. For example, the cost of groceries has increased immensely over the past couple of years and will continue to do so.

    2. I am a saver. I am saving money for both short term and long term goals. A short term goal that I am saving money towards is a camera. A long term goal would be to go to university. I am a saver because whenever I recieve money, I do not automatically spend it. I plan to save some of the money for the future but I also leave myself a little bit of spending money.

    ReplyDelete
  8. 1. Although the set price of an item may be $300.00, it may only be worth $1.00 to someone who doesn't have interest in the item. For example, when i bought my guess wallet, i spent a lot of money on it, and my mom thought that it was a waste of money, however to me it was worth the price because it was something that i really wanted. To my mom it wasn't worth as much as it was too me. An example of a good or service thats price is often different then its value to the potential customer, would be something like babysitting, because everyone has a different belief on the price.
(Also, stereotypically, a boy would spend ALOT of money on a game console, where as a girl would probably rather spend that money on alot of cute clothes for school.)

    2. I think that i am a saver and a spender. Whenever my parents give me a little spending money for the week, or a shopping trip i usually use it if its there in my wallet. But, i also have a debit card that i can use whenever i want to. I am a spender with the money that is in my reach (wallet) and i am a saver with the money that is in my bank account. The money that is in my bank account is usually saved up to buy something that i will REALLY want in the future, things like an ipod, new cellphone, new summer clothes, etc. The money that is in my wallet is usually spent on food for my lunch at school, or on tiny shopping trips to the mall or something. I wish i was better at saving my money, because then i wouldn't have to worry about if i had enough money, and I would always have a little buying room, and wouldn't have to always worry about the prices as much.

  9. 1. So that means that the value of a product may be worth a lot to one person but to another person it may not be worth anything at all. To me the value of video games is really low because I do not play video games at all and I don't really enjoy them. But to a lot of my friends video games are worth a high price and they want any video games they can have. I would not pay the price that is set for any video games but a lot of people I know would.I dont see any point in spending my money on video games because so much time is spent on them and to me they are not worth it. But to other people video games are so much fun and ll the extra time they get is put to use on video games.

    2. I am a little bit of both. If I have a goal in mind then I will save my money. Right not I am saving to go to Texas to visit some friends. I am saving for the flight tickets, and I am saving up some shopping money for when i am there. But if I dont have a specific goal in mind then i will spend my money quickly. I will spend a lot of it to go shopping or to go to the movies.

  10. 1. Price and values differ between consumers depending on how much they are willing to pay for the good or service. The more they want it the more they will be willing to pay for it. For example a new car one person might love the car and be willing to buy it for the top price, whereas somebody who might just think the cars okay will try to talk the dealer into lowering the price of the car. The example in class was very accurate about the chickens, wheat, and cows how each person might tarde there item for different amounts depending on how bad they want the cow, wheat or chickens. If a product is worth $10 but the consumer is was willing to pay $15 they'll buy it because they want it pretty bad, whereas someone who is willing topay $5 for it won't buy it because they might like it but it's not worth the $10 to them.

    2. I am saver. I got a a couple hundred dollars for my birthday 2 monthes ago and I put a hundred dollars into the bank and I still have the other hundred dollars at my house. I'm not really saving my money for a certain thing. I'm asving it for a car and than the insurance, university, and for if I want something really want something. I just like the feeling that I have money, so I rarely spend my money I'd rather save it and know that I have the money. The only tiem I'll spend money is if I want something really bad, otherwise I'll just keep my money and save up.

    ReplyDelete
  11. 1. My observations about a good or service are that the price of the product depends on the customer, consumer or business. Businesses base their prices on the cost of the materials needed and other expenses and then put the price up higher so that they are making a profit. when the customer goes shopping they see the price and think of what they would be willing to pay for it. They would be willing to pay more for something that they really like or want. And if they don't wan't it they won't be willing to pay as much. For me when i go shopping I'll go into Sports Check and see a pair of shoes for $129.99 and I'll think about how the shoes are made. The material is more than likely from a third world country where they have kids working in sweat shops making around a penny a day and then they transport the product over to Canada. This would probably cost less than $20, so where do they get the idea of charging me over $100 for something that cost so little to make. I think it should cost only $60, so I am not willing to pay any more than that I will go find another pair of shoes that are just as good and a whole lot cheaper.

    2. I am both a spender and a saver. If I have money outside of the bank it will be gone the next day, but if I put the money in the bank before I have a chance to spend it the money stays in the bank untouched. I am trying to save up money so I can get a cell phone, and then once I get one I will be saving up for a car. When I spend my money I spend it on things I don't really need but I want. Things like movies, tv series and books.

    ReplyDelete
  12. 1. A price is different than a value. Someone sells something for a price so they can make money, but the concumer bases the price on the value of how much they need or want that item. For example, when I buy books the price is based on the size and whether it is hard cover or soft cover, but I base the value on the genre and the writing style so I generally think that the book is priced to high. If my friend and I were to buy the same book we would have different opinions on the value because we would have different taste in books. She might think the book is worth the 20 dollars because of the author and I might not think that because it is not my favorite genre.

    2. I am both a saver and a spender. I don't buy clothes or music or movies very often unless it is necasary or it is on sale. I try to save my money so that I will be able to buy a laptop when I need it. When I look at buying things it is normally a hard decision and I think about if I really need it. The one thing I do spend all my money on is books. I don't like to borrow books so I buy them all. I have recently gotten out of the habbit of buying hardcover books so I have started saving money that way.

  13. 1. An item is more special and meeningful to one customer, but less to another. Someone who likes a specific brand will be wuilling to pay more for it then someone who doesn't care for it. Someone who likes a type of food will be willing to pay more to enjoy that type of food. When i went shopping a while back, i bought a Diesel shirt for $65 because i really like the brand and the shirt. Other people wouldn't pay that much for it because it doesn't mean anything to them. When i went to Kelsey's last night, i didn't want to pay over $20 for their steak because i don't really like steak as much.

    2. I am both. I don't like to save money but i don't spend it. When i go shopping i like to buy everything i like, but, i don't like to spend too much money. But i don't save up too much because i like having stuff. When my parents give me $20, i usually use it up by the end of the week buying food and all but i wouldn't spend more than that.

  14. 1. This means that the price that a product is being sold for, may not be worth that amount in your opinion. For exmaple, I don't think an x-box is worth what it's sold for. I don't see the point in wasting money on an x-box because it has become such an addcition for people and they spend all their time on it. The only use I have for an x-box is to watch movies. That is my opinion, but another person might feel differently about it. It depends on your own vlaues and what matters to you. An x-box doesn't matter to me at all, but if it were my brother, he would have a different opinion. He would have no problem spending his money an x-box or games for it.

    2. I am more of a saver than a spender. When I go shopping, I hesistate to spend my own money because I would rather save it until I know it's something I really want to spend my money on. I don't mind spending money when it's not my own. I have an easier time spending my parent's money than my own, because it's not coming out of my bank account. I would rather save my money for University, because I definately want to go, but I also know how expensive it is.

  15. 1.A good or service can be different to customers because one person can like that item and the other one may prefer something else. An example that we did in class was about a Nike sweater and a Lululemon sweater. Some preffered the Nike one and some preffered the Lululemon one.

    2. I am a both a spender and a saver at the same time because I'm saving for driving school currently and I spend money at school for food at lunch. Also if I'm at the mall or wherever and I see something I like, I would buy it.

    ReplyDelete
  16. 1. The price of a good or service is often different from it's value because of different customers' needs and wants. For example, my electronic keyboard was worth about $500-$600, but my little sister doesn't take that into consideration because she doesn't really have an interest in music as much as I do. However, that same keyboard is 7 years old, so the price of it now would probably be less compared to the new modern-technology keyboards. Also, some people would do anything to have a keyboard, so they will pay as much as they have to so they have one, and others don't really want one, so they might pay less because they don't want or need one that much.
    2. I would say that I am a saver. Whenever I get money, I give it to my parents to put it in my bank account so it goes towards university. however, I don't get money very often becuase I don't have a job, and the only way that I get money is as a gift from my relatives on holidays like Christmas or on my birthday and such. One year of university alone is very expensive, so to think of going for multiple years makes me wonder if I will have the money in time!

    ReplyDelete
  17. 1. When a good or services price is more than a customer would like to pay for a that item or service, people tend to either overpay or not buy it at all. One time, I was going to buy a Tapout shirt but it was way over priced so I had to walk away and not buy it. Also, an items value can differ between two customers. Me and a friend could think something is worth more or less than what we think. Like, if I were to pay $5 for a McDonalds meal, a friend could think it is only worth $3 so they would not buy it.

    2. I believe I am both a spender and a saver. If they money is in a savings account I do not spend it at all. But if the money is in my wallet, I have to spend it, most of the time on food. I am currently saving for maybe an Xbox 360 or Playstation 3, but I will most likely save it up for gas money when I can drive and schooling in the future.

    ReplyDelete
  18. 2:I am a spender I like having money but I like spending it when I get it. I will probably save money when I get a good job with more hours. I got 40 last weekend and I spent it on food and other stuff.

    ReplyDelete
  19. 1. A good or service's price is often different than it's value to the potential customer because the company needs to make more money than what they had bought the good or service for. Say that I am an owner of a company that sells shoes. Every month we have different shoe brands that come in at certain prices. I would most definitley INVEST the shoes and put more money into them so I can make more money when the potential customer buys them.

    2. I am a spender. The longest I will go with saving is a couple of days, and once I have reached a certain amount of money that is spendable, I will spend it. Items that I am constantly spending money on is shoes and clothing. I feel that since I have been spending money on this for a long time, it would be hard for me to start to save because I usually spend money on shoes and clothing twice a week. I would love to be a saver so I can start saving for future payments but at this moment in time, I am a fully engaged spender.

  20. 1. Item: Movie Ticket
Depending on your likes and dislikes, movie tickets can be of different values. For instance, if you're into action movies, purchasing a ticket to see Predators is worth your money because it interests you. But if you don't find action films entertaining, then the ticket is lower value, therefore a waste of your money.

    2. I think I'm a saver because I put most of my money into the bank. The only thing I really use my money for is food and makeup. Otherwise I don't actually buy much else other than the occassional sweater or shirt. Currently I'm saving for a MacBook, so saving is very important to me since they're so expensive.

  21. Some people may value a apple for nothing and others could value it for over 9000$. I value the progress I have made on multiple projects priceless. People have very different and differing thoughts and opinions on the value of objects ranging form nothing to the hightiest price.

I am a saver, I tend to save my money and only spend it on the things I really want/need. I tend to save my money for when something I want is released such as a new game or book.

  22. 1. Item: hair brush.
A lot of people in the world need hair brushes. Salon owner would propably pay more for their hair brushes because they want their customer to have the best quality. They would probably buy a brush that would last a long time. Normal average people would pay AROUND $5 for a brush. People who have no hair would pay $0. It also depend on what type you want(for traveling etc.), what colour and the quality.

    2. I would think of myself as a saver, because I hate spending my money. I would rather put my money towards vacation, school in the future, or technology. I would not spend $150 on shoes because for me that is too much. I would rather save that money and if someone bought 6 shoes that are $150, then that would be $900 in total.

  23. 1. the value of a sevice or good is different for each person like skiing some people do not like to ski so they will pay nothing as others will pay hundereds.
Bartering may make a consumer pay more then item was worth or sell an item for more.

    2. i am a saver i had a paper route for 3 years and i still have alot of money from it just for anything big i want like xbox stuff.

  24. 1. Item: Guess sweater

I am a brand freak. I find their clothing nice and decent. For me purchasing a guess sweater is fine because I have the money to do that and interest. Others may find it over priced or they may not like their style.

    2. I am definitely a spender; I probably couldn’t save if my life depended on it. Whenever I have money, I always end up spending on things like food and clothing. If I like something I must get it. Sometimes I can't save because I have nothing to save for. Most people tend to save for laptops, phone bills and university but I already have a laptop, cell phone bill is covered and I have an RESP and my parents don't mind, so I have nothing to worry about. :)

Explain both of these observations using an example from your own experience. For me, i wouldnt spend any money on an ipod because an mp3 player is cheaper and does the same job( playing music) as for a service, i would pay 15 to get a car washed opposed to me doing it myself as where my mom uncle would rather wash his own and save his money.
Are you a spender or a saver? Justify your answer with examples of your behavior. If you're a saver; what are you saving for? If you are a spender; what are some item's you are constantly spending money on that prevent you from saving? I am a saver, and if im not saving im very fruggle with how much i spend... i always pay the cheapest price on anything unless its a necessity which i truly need. and example of this is, a car i have been saving for a chevy cobalt (yellow) since i was 10

  26. 1. Item: Smart Phone
With internet and email Smart Phones are mostly used for business. The difference between the value of smart phones between say a businessman and a teenager are very defferent. Businesses are constantly emailing their workers, while teenagers only use the phone for social-networking.

    2. I consider myself a spender. I feel this way because once I have money I see something I would like such as food, or a drink during lunch. I also spend alot of money on clothes.

    ReplyDelete
  27. 1. Item: Car
Depending on your needs for a car and your wants will make a difference in the value of a car. If you really only need a small car you wouldn't want to pay for a big SUV/truck that won't be much use to you, so the value of a bigger vehicle wouldn't be worth it. Also, the places you will be travelling to and the gas mileage will affect how you value the car. If it has a good mileage and you like to travel getting a better car on mileage would be worth it.

    2. I think i am a spender. As soon as i get money on my hands i use it, even for things that aren't even useful to me. I constantly buy lunch from school and i buy clothes a lot. Buying lunch wastes my money when i could make my lunch at home and whenever i find a new shirt i like i have a tendency to buy it.

  28. 1. Last year i got my iPod and that is something that my cousin and i could not agree on. She said that to buy an iPod touch was way to much money and she would never "waste money" to get one. All she wanted was a simple little thing that played music. To me i love the fact that my iPod can do more then just play music and that is why i did spend the money to get it. To her music isnt that important but to me my music is everything.

    2. I would be a saver. I rarly spend my own money on something. My parents either will give me money to buy something when i go out or i just hold back from shopping. All the money i do get either will go into my bank or in my room incase i need cash. Normally i will save my money just becauce, but when i find something that i really like, then i will save up for it or spend some of what i already have.

  29. 1. Arcade tokens: These can have different values because it's your choice on how you spend them. After you decide on how many tokens your going to purchase, you want to walk around and decide what the best game is. This is because if you win it comes to your advantage and you may get your money's worth but if you continue to lose it's basically a waste of money.
    2. I think I'm a bit of both, but overall I'm more of a spender. When I make money I like to split it in have and save one half. Although I don't have a bank account and it is a little risky I still like to have some extra cash. I think I can't stay away from not spending because unfortunatly I'm brainwashed by new things that come out and I can't resist. (It's mostly clothes and entertainment.)

  31. 1) A good or service's price is often different from its value for different people because, it basically depends on the importance/value for an item in one’s life. Value basically matters when you know how essential or important something is in your life, and what will happen if you don’t own that thing. For example, if we talk about makeup, some people think it’s important and essential to have, whereas someone else might think that it’s not a need and is not important. This is how different things value differently for different people dependent on their needs and wants. Other than this, price can value differently for people because maybe some people can afford to buy more things than other people. Also some people might consider some items to be essential in life and that’s why they think it’s important to have that item in life and is not worth a lot.
    2) I think I am a spender because I like to spend my money on clothes and make up. I think make up and clothes prevent me from saving because as soon as i get money, i end up buying clothes and make up.

  32. item: house.
the value of a house has a large range. For example someone with a low income would possibly buy a house in downtown hamilton, this would put their house as low value because they could prefer to have a more expensive house on the moutain.

i beleive that i am a spender more than a saver because i use much of my money to satisfy wants such as movie tickets or tim hortans rather than needs.

  33. 1. -A Big Mac for example has a price of around $3.00, but some people feel that $3.00 is too much for a big mac, since they do not value it as much. Other people though would pay that price because they value their Big Mac a lot more, and are willnig to spend their money on something that they love.
    - Some people would pay $40 dollars for love pink pants, but other people would not, because they don't value the pants as much as the other people do. This shows the difference between 2 consumers and their values, because it shows that some consumers have different values than others, making them spend money on different things.

    2. I'm a little bit of both, because I am saving most of my money for new clothes and a blackberry, but I also spend money a lot on lunch at school, Tim Horton's, etc.

Different products have different values to the different kinds of costumers for example an AE shirt. I wouldn't buy the shirt because I don't like the quality of it but since it's AE, some peoples opinions on the shirt will change because of the brand name or style which means people would pay full price for the shirt.

    2. I would say im a spender and a saver because, I mostly spend my money on food and clothes but then I usually think twice about not spending it on uneeded products because I like to know that I have a good amount of money in my wallet incase I do want something.

  37. 1. The value price of a good or service is often different than the value to the potential customer because it shows how much the customer wants or needs the product. For example at auction the value of the item is determined on the how much the highest bidder pays for the good or service.

2.I believe i am deffinatley a spender. Although i may have a savings account and savings bonds as gifts from various relatives, i still spend much more than i save. For example i often go out to the movies or shopping or just to tim hortons. But alot of the time when i go out with friends i am spending money and thats why i think im a spender not a saver.

  38. HI :)
    1. My example: i think that paying for clothing is worth the price, because its something that I value. To other people, many would not pay alot for clothing, because of their values; clothing is not important to them. Also, the value on clothes is based on personal styles and preferences, because someone who purchased a shirt they really like thinks that is worth the money, because that certain style is of value to them.

    2. I think that I am a saver because i rarely buy anything expensive, unless it is a neccesity or I really want it for an occasion. I have more money saved than spent.Im not currently saving for anything in particular, but I`m just saving money in case i want something in the future (i.e a new computer).

  39. 1. to a person that has a higher value on a product, is willing to spend more money to buy it. but if it has a low value to a customer they wont spend a lot on the product. the value shows how much the customer wants or needs the product.

    2. i am definately a saver. i will not buy something unless i need it or really, really want it. i like to save money because i like to buy the really expensive goods/services like a dirt bike, car/car insurance. right now im saving my money for car insurance when i can drive.

  40. 1. The value price of a good or service is often different than the value to the potential customer because some people could have sentimental value to the item, or how much they need it so they would pay extra to get it for sure such as an auction or bidding

2.i am definatlly a spender mainly because i only get 5 bucks a day so i rather spend it because i think that it would take too much time to save it by 5 a day

  41. 1) some people would pay more for different things if it means more to them. some people pay for the name thats on the products.

2)i would have to say in a saver beause when i get my money i dont want to go out and spend it i want to save up for a car

  42. i bought a cell phone for $150 wen its worth $120 but to me its worth me paying $150,its a example of me wanting it cus a consumer will pay more and the object will go up in value depending on the consumers needs and wants for the product.
i am a spender wen ever i get a check i have it spent within a day or two like i have earned $1000 over the past 3 months and i only have $0.95 left over from all of that, but i am now turning more in to a saver because i am putting half my checks in the bank now. :D

  43. 1) i think people would pay more for a item with a brand name, or they would bid for an auction.

    2) i think im a spender because when ever i have money or get money i spend it.

  44. items may be different between two costumers because one might want they item not matter the price and another customer might find it worthless. if i saw a nice pair of nikes i would buy them no matter the price, some one else might not because they might not like the brand or the company. they might find a $150 pair of shoes worthless and a waste of money. if some one likes the service in a store they would go back and buy from the same place.

    2. i am mostly a saver. if i want something i will save all my money. but at some points if i have money on me and i see something i really like in a store i will buy and i won't even think twice about it.

  45. Austin Greenaway-

    1. The value of a product or service is very different from person to person. For example, a video game such as call of duty, valued at 60-70$, could deem extremely valuable to one who is into the first person genre as if someone were to dislike the game it would deem worthless and a waste of money to them.

    2. I have to say I'm a spender. Whenever i get money, I can save it for a minimalistic timespan, often end up spending it on shopping, online games or just fast food from time to time, though I have a bank account not much is saved.

  46. 1. I believe the value of an item differs per person because of how relevent it is in the persons life. I wouldn't spend 1 dollars a month on volcano insurance because there are no volcanos near me. If i lived beside one i would think that was a pretty good deal.

    2. I am deffinatly a spender. I spend my money as soon as I get it , sometimes before i even have it. Things I spend my money on are skateboards, shoes and clothes.

  47. 1. Money is also another word for currency but money is something that everyone agrees on what people believe that it's actually really worth and item's value is quite different from money only because its used to access the item your buying from any stores you go.

2.I'm a saver because i dont really spend money on certain items just because there pointless to buy. I'm mostly saving up for a car and a house for when im older as setting a goal. So most of the time i save but some times ill spend my money.

After reading your comments, here are some of my thoughts or questions back to you.

Adi - I liked your discussion of shoes. Style and preference are a very personal things and therefore the value of certain fashion items can vary greatly between two people

Ashley - Great comment!!! Very insightful

Michelle - Excellent insight into your own experience.

Tyler - Well done connecting your thoughts with the class material.

    Jessica - Great examples.

Charlotte - I like the example of the auction! Great way to illustrate value.

Natalija - What are your favourite brands and how much do you VALUE them?

Cory - could you answer the 2nd question.

Hayden - Oil prices change for many reasons, politics is only one of them. Consider supply and demand? How might a change in demand affect the price of oil?

Forrest - Can you clarify your example?

  51. My favourite brands are Aeropostale, Guess, Campus Crew, and Chanel because Aero has good deals for t-shirts sometimes, guess has belts, campus crew has really good quality sweaters and track pants, and i have chanel glasses which help me see.

  52. In my example it means that people may not want to spen alot of money on things that are more then they think it costs or how much they thing is should be priced.

  53. A brand freak is a person that is basically obessed with labels or likes to wear labels (nike, ecko, guess, pink). It relates to to our discussion of value because brand freaks tend to value their labels more than others. The spenders would careless on how much the iteam costs... only depends on how it looks, whereas the savers will think it over like 10 times and consider the looks somehwat.
